Hi,

Chasing help? So I have a 2012 monster 659... Has 3 plugs under the seat... A 2 pin, 3 pin and 4 pin connector... The three pin only has two wires...

I looked up on eBay and all listing's implied for a 12 monster I needed the 4 pin obd2 cable for a Siemens ecu... I also bought an ebay kkl adaptor ..

Have I bought the wrong cable? Did I need a 3 pin job and was ebay wrong about the 4 pin one?

Next query  tried a few different drivers with no success... I get a pass on the cable test but it won't connect... Not sure what I'm doing wrong here? I'm not sure if I should be chasing more drivers or settings or a 3 pin cable for the other plug.. Just can't work out what's wrong...

Cheers,
Tim

Hi,

Ah yes... I found that further down your website now...👍

As a side point  if the 4 pin connector is for Siemens diagnostics, does anyone know what the 3 pin (with 2 Wires) and the 2 pin plugs are for which all break out under the seat too

I have a wifi elm adaptor  will that work at all?

Cheers,

Hi again,

I have now got myself a wired ELM327 with a genuine FTDI chip in it...

I still cannot get a connection to open, I have downloaded drivers off the FTDI website and received an ELM failed to initialise error...

Any idea what's going wrong here? Mostly likely user error on my part, but I'm a bit stumped...

Also to clarify on 2012 monster 659 bikes, the 4 pin connector does the ECU and dash via canbus, three pin connector goes to the ABS module and I am yet to work out where the 2 pin connector goes to... These first two I found in the wiring diagram, but it doesn't show the 2 pin connector...

Cheers,
Tim

Surely I can download hyperterminal for free from somewhere? So no, but I'll find it if that helps?

Getting closer!

38400 baud and com port 2 works... Changing from com port 3 seems to have helped for some reason?

Anyhow now I get this error when I try to connect?

Turns out my ELM327 has a prolific chip and only drivers 3.2.0 seem to work... I tried loads of other drivers on my PC with no luck of a connection... Prolific drivers 3.3.2 and the ELM flashes it's communication lights but the software comes up with the same initialisation error...

So advice on the screenshot? It wont read any info from the ecu to apply for the licence file? I'm thinking it could still be a driver issue?
