are you sure , you are using melcodiag ? Shocked

Yes, I am sure. I downloaded the SW directly from this forum's SW link page. I'm sure it's something small, it appears to work for too many people to be a bad code etc...

I've read and reread the various threads on hoe to get it working, as well as watched various youtube videos on the subject. I've followed the processes and procedures that various people have had success with, but no luck.

So - Let's start with the basics:

1.) Since you know I have the LONELEC systems, what "cable type" should I be selecting?
2.) What BUAD rate should I be selecting? My assumption is 38,400 but I don't want to assume I am correct.
a.) When the SW interface shows up, I select "fast Init", is that correct?
3.) In the Port Setting in Win 10, what "flow control" should be selected - none?
4.) What other Port Settings in Win 10 do I need to check or confirm?
5.) What order of sequence do I need to follow regarding connecting the cable, plugging it in to the bike, turning on the ignition. What goes 1st, 2nd and 3rd?
6.) I do make sure to run the application as Administrator.

Do I need to unlock the ECU? That said, I can't get the SW to even see the ECU to be able to get the information to send to you to get a key.

I'm obviously missing something.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I am using JPdiag, as I said from the start.

Can you please link or tell me where to get “melcodiag “?

Sorry for my frustration and thank you for your patience.

1- you can't write a report if there is no data
2- you can't etablish connection on port 6 , are your sure :
-a : if elm is powered ?
-b : if com6 is not used by an other app?
-c : to have try the other speeds available in jpdiag ?

Hi,

1.) OK

2a.) Yes, ELM has a red light and an occasional green light flash

2b.) yes, com port 6 is not the see by anything else.  When I unplug the ELM, the device goes away in device manager.

2c.) I have tried all speed options; in BOTH JPDiag and now Melcodiag.

Anything else seem out of line?

So it seems a driver issue
I suggest to try a different driver directly from ftdi website
